Frequently Asked Questions

Are you mobile?

Yes! Leaving the house especially in those early days with a new baby can sometimes be a stressful experience, I take this stress away by bringing my studio to you. This allows you to enjoy the entire experience in the comfort of your own home with everything you need to hand.

I cover areas within the West Midlands including Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Cannock, Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Dudley, Halesowen, West Bromwich, Wednesbury, Aldridge, Lichfield & surrounding areas.

How long will a newborn session take?

Sessions can take 3-4 hours, they are completely baby led, and will allow time in between to feed and change your baby. Set up takes around 15 minutes, which will allow you time to feed your newborn. A full baby often means they will be nice and sleepy. If your baby is awake that’s absolutely fine (awake photos are some of my favourites!) & move on to sleepy images once they are asleep.

My baby is older than 21 days, do you photograph older newborns?

Yes. I photograph babies of all ages. Newborns are best photographed under 21 days simply because this is when they are in their most settled & sleepiest. Older newborns are just as amazing to photograph however they are more likely to be awake during their session, however this does mean I will be able to capture all of their beautiful facial expressions and hopefully little smiles. These sessions do come under a ‘newborn session’ due to the amount of equipment & time required for their session.

How do I book a session?

Please send me an enquiry using the contact link at the bottom of my website providing as much information about your enquiry. I will then respond to your enquiry with pricing information & availability. If you would like to book a session I will send you an email with the booking information on including deposit information & Terms & Conditions

Do I need to provide anything myself and what equipment do you bring?

For Newborn Sessions (babies 5-21 days old) and Older Newborns (up to sitting age) I bring a posing beanbag, wraps, blankets, a small selection of clothing, lighting and a white backdrop with stand stand (approximately 2 metres wide).

For Sitter sessions I provide a small selection of blankets to sit on, romper style outfits & a white backdrop and backdrop stand (approximately 2 metres wide x 2.5 meters depth) plus lighting .

For maternity sessions I provide a small selection of outfits, lighting & a both white & black backdrops (approximately 2 metres wide x 2.5 meters depth).

For Cake Smash sessions I provide the cake, balloons, a small selection of romper style outfits, a white backdrop and backdrop stand (approximately 2 metres wide x 2.5 meters depth) plus lighting. You are welcome to provide your own outfits for portrait photos of your child prior to cake smashing. No additional decorations can be added due to the size of my backdrop however I do provide ONE letters.

If you would like personal items included in your session please let me know.

Do you need a lot of space?

This all depends on session type. I will always try and work with the space you have in your home, although some set ups may not be possible, please contact me to discuss space in your home if you are unsure. It may mean moving a few things out of the way such as coffee tables etc.

Where do you travel to?

I travel to most places within the West Midlands, some places may incur additional travel charge however this will be discussed at the time of booking.

What happens if my baby won’t settle?

I am a baby-led photographer, this means your baby sets the pace of the session and will only be positioned in poses that they are naturally comfortable with. I will always do my best to get your baby to be as relaxed as possible. Very rarely, some babies and young children don’t settle, however if this is the case we will take some beautiful awake images of your baby and as many natural images of your children as possible.

What should we wear?

My photography style is very simple & timeless so in keeping with this I recommend wearing white, neutral or black coloured clothing. Try to avoid patterns or clothes with large logos. Textures work really well such as knits & ribbed fabrics. Try to choose the same or similar colours for your family. A simple white T-shirt or dress is perfect!

What happens after the session?

After your session I will select & edit your beautiful images which can take up to few weeks (during busy periods it may be slightly longer however you’ll be informed of the approximate turnaround time during your session). I will select the best images based on positioning, angle, lighting & image quality. I will then beautifully edit these before sending you your final gallery.

I know parents are excited to receive their images as soon as possible, in exchange for images to be used on for my business, I will send you a sneak peak image within 24 hours.

Once you have received your images you can purchase additional extras such as framed images, prints, acrylic images or photo albums. On occasion there may be additional images which are charged at £10 per additional image.
Images will be kept by Victoria Page Photography for 2 month period unless prior agreement has been made in writing. Images are assumed to be received and in good condition unless the client notifies Victoria Page Photography within 14 days.

Will I need to pay any extra for photos?

All my packages include a gallery of edited images between 5-20 images depending on type of session. On occasion there may be additional images which are charged at £10 each additional image which you will be informed of prior to editing. Other extras which would be required to pay for are frames, prints or acrylic images or any additional image which will be discussed prior to editing.
